the corner suite bistro de luxe: closed- VANCOUVER

September 16, 2010

the corner suite bistro is a cute little french restaurant on thurlow street.
ive been here once before and loved their crab cakes and tapa style onion soup.
my favorite is how close it is to the shopping district and the ambience and decor of this modernly chic yet cozy setting. oh and please take note of the baby blue painted-on chairs- just love it!

we had the chicken liver pate crostini & duck rillete crostini tapa-styled appetizers- they were good but a bit on the oily side.

next i ordered the baby onion soup which was so adorable and literally thumb sized, but the cheese and bread in the soup filled me up quite a bit- a must try.

later on we shared the dungeness crab cake– the first time i tried this dish i told myself that ‘this was the best crab cake i’ve had in vancouver’.

for our main course me & the boyfriend had the station 7 burger which seemed to be very popular that night- the burger was pretty decent- juicy meat- but it tasted just like a burger ..

+ overall, service was OK but i’d still go back for the ambiance and food. its a great place to go on a date or drinks with the girls!
